The construction of the Greenhaven Elementary School was completed in 1955. Majestic evergreens tower throughout the school grounds. Our building was designed to house three sections of each grade from kindergarten through sixth grade. Several grade configuration changes have taken place since then. The most recent change occurred the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year with all 2nd and 3rd graders in the district coming to Greenhaven.  The Greenhaven Elementary School is handicap accessible.

Our highly qualified staff work with our students and families to develop positive partnerships that lead to a successful school year. Besides instruction from their classroom teacher, our students receive instruction from specialists in art, music, physical education, and media. Title 1 services are also available.  For students with English as their second language, a licensed ESL is employed in the district.

Our school year begins with a district wide Visitation Day on the first day of school. Students come to school for a short time in the morning or afternoon with a parent or guardian to meet their teacher to learn what will be expected of students and parents for the coming year. This has been a positive approach for the start of the new school year.

The Greenhaven Elementary School has a supportive Parent-Teacher Organization and a Parent Volunteer Program. Parents are encouraged to be involved in the daily activities and special programs at our school.

Staff, involved parents, and special programs and services provide our students with an excellent learning environment.
